Haribaabu Naatesan (“Hari”) graduated in Fine Arts from Govt. College of Fine Arts, Chennai. Pursuing his dream, he went on to do his post-graduation at the National Institute of Design, (NID) Ahmedabad where he found the space to express his unique style with the unusual, the throw-away, the scrap objects and his ideas first took wings there. At NID, Haribaabu got the platform to exhibit his first solo show and won immense appreciation and accolades. His work and exceptional style got noticed by critics, collectors and fellow artists.

Haribaabu was in demand in the corporate world as the Head of the Animation team for the On Air Promotions at a music channel in Chennai. More opportunities opened up with offers from various media companies and music channels. Haribaabu shifted base to Mumbai then as the Graphic Head for a television production house. In 2009, Haribaabu quit his job and decided to set up his own studio – pursuing a more creative path.

Haribaabu got a solo exhibition at the ‘Out of the Blue’ Lounge in the peak festive season. A stunned audience admired his original work, based on a medium never used before. Since his beginnings in the Mumbai Lounge – Hari’s work has gone far afield, including London.

MY PHILOSOPHY:

I see life in stillness and a beginning in every end”.

Ever wondered what happens to obsolete Walkman’s and obsolete video tapes? To blunt saw blades and to dead cell phones. To ancient floppy discs and fused light bulbs? What happens to what we generally call ‘scrap’? Just because they have out-lived their use, do they deserve to be forgotten away in attics, thrown into bins? Or, just piled up in one corner of a scrap yard?

Science believes "Matter and energy is neither created nor destroyed, it can just change in form”. An unbroken cycle of creation and destruction. And artistic recycling.

Again, this unending cycle is also spiritual in nature – BIRTH and REBIRTH.

And so I see life in stillness and a beginning in every end.

Whenever I see scrap materials, I see a soul waiting to come to life.

I see science merging into art into design into spirituality and

I CREATE”.
